Ken Boddie has 44 years’ consulting experience in geotechnical engineering, soil mechanics, earthworks and related disciplines while based in various offices in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Indonesia, London, Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar. In addition, he has worked on and visited projects in Thailand, Libya, Nigeria, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
During this time, Ken has been involved in a variety of works including geotechnical and environmental investigation, design, construction monitoring, materials control and sourcing, augmentation and remediation studies, and expert witness testimony. He has held various managerial positions, varying from a specialist in-house consultant, servicing large multi-discipline groups, to branch office manager for specialist geotechnical and environmental companies. He was DP’s North Queensland Manager for many years, with responsibilities including technical support for the South-East Queensland, North Queensland and Northern Territory Offices.
During his 25 years combined service with Douglas Partners he has been intimately involved with the evolution of the Quality Assurance system, both as a project and branch manager. In the last seven years he has taken on the role of National Quality Assessment Manager for Douglas Partners.
Ken maintains a working perspective of the operational activities of DP’s project management system by providing training and mentoring advice to younger professional staff and by peer reviewing technical reports produced by project managers in various DP offices on a weekly basis.
