Dan Martin is a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, Senior Associate of DP, and Cairns Branch Manager, and has over 20 years’ geotechnical experience since graduation (including 17 years in Cairns with DP). Dan is experienced with geotechnical investigation, testing, and analysis, and is a CPEng and a RPEQ.
Dan has managed numerous geotechnical investigations addressing geotechnical issues including reactive soils, soft soils (settlements, subgrade improvement, piling, stability), pavement subgrades, shallow and deep footings, retaining walls, excavation support, stability risk assessment, effluent disposal, acid sulfate soils, contamination, and material suitability. This experience has been gained from geotechnical, contamination and acid sulfate investigations undertaken bridges (road, rail, pedestrian), roads, airport developments, pipelines, linear infrastructure and water supply, residential subdivisions and allotments ,mining projects, towers, single to multi-storey building developments including basements, educational and sporting facilities, and defence facilities.
Dan has undertaken numerous investigations in remote locations, including northern Queensland, Cape York, Torres Strait, PNG, as well as NSW country areas.
