David is a Principal of Douglas Partners based in the Melbourne office with over 12 years' experience in geotechnical engineering consulting.
He commenced employment with DP in January 2005 after completing a double degree in Civil Engineering (Honours) and Maths & Computer Science at the University of Adelaide. He went onto complete a Masters of Engineering Science in Geotechnical Engineering from UNSW in 2009. He became an Associate in 2011 and was recently promoted to Principal in 2022.
He has extensive experience in geotechnical investigations for a multitude of industrial, commercial, residential and infrastructure developments in Victoria and South Australia. These include residential subdivisions, industrial warehouses, multi-storey towers, embankments, roads, rail and bridges. David has been involved in the design and construction phase works of many major infrastructure projects such as Southern Expresseway Duplication in Adelaide, EastLink motorway and the recent Level Crossing Removal Package 1 in Melbourne. David also has had experience in offshore drilling where he acted as client representative on board a drill ship in Timor Sea. He is experienced in foundation design, retaining wall design, soil slope and rock slope stability, embankment settlement and geotechnical instrumentation.
