Glyn is a Senior Associate of Douglas Partners with 20 years' of experience in geo-environmental consulting.
Glyn's first position, following completion of a Bachelor of Science (with Hons) in Earth Sciences at Oxford Brookes University in the UK, was as a Geological Engineer for Wardell Armstrong, a multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy, based in their Cardiff Office. During this tenure he was seconded to the Mines and Quarry Division of the Hong Kong Government Geotechnical Engineering Office for nine months.
Glyn left Wardell Armstrong in 1997 to complete a Master of Science in Applied Environmental Geology. Following graduation he worked as a Geo-environmental Engineer for Mott MacDonald until 1999 when he migrated to Australia after a brief period travelling around Asia. Glyn commenced employment at Douglas Partners' Melbourne Office as Manager of Environmental Services. During 2005 and 2007 Glyn worked at Golder Associates in their Maroochydore and Brisbane offices before returning to DP as Manager of Environmental Services in Perth.
Glyn has experience in a wide range of contaminated land and groundwater investigations, from preliminary and detailed site investigations through to remediation and validation. He is also experienced in acid sulfate soil investigation and management, hazardous building materials assessment (in particular with regard to asbestos) and also assists DP's accredited Contaminated Sites Environmental Auditors on Victorian and previously Western Australian Audit projects. This has included independent and objective review of information presented by the assessment consultant against relevant existing guidelines and industry best practice, preparation of comments outlining any identified deficiencies and data gaps to be addressed, review of field work procedures (soil, surface, groundwater and soil gas/vapour during investigation, remediation and validation stages of assessment) as the Auditor's representative and assistance in the preparation of Environmental Audit Reports.
