Accounts Receivable Officer

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Officer to join our team. Reporting to the Accounts Receivable Team Leader, you will be responsible for:

  • Identify and accurately allocate money received (cash, cheques, EFT Payments, credit card payments) to ensure accurate allocation.
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies to maintain accurate financial reports.
  • Effective and efficient collection of company’s outstanding Accounts Receivable balances
  • Assist the AR Team Leader with accounts receivable month end close and reporting as required.
  • Liaising with branches
  • Monitor Creditor Watch Alerts
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholder relating to Accounts receivable function.

About the Candidate

You will need:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Understanding of basic accounting and Accounts Receivable principles
  • Experience in customer service, including the ability to deal with conflict
  • Strong analytical skills, intellectual rigour, and experience across a broad range of commercial issues
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Demonstrate leadership and ability to motivate staff to think outside the box.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Table)
  • Excellent communication skills in both oral and written
  • Excellent attention to detail
