Geotechnical Section Manager

Do you have the drive and commitment to lead, build and collaborate with a diverse team of geotechnical engineers, engineering geologists, environmental scientists and earthworks technicians?

About the Role

Douglas Partners Canberra is seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and dynamic person to lead, support and develop our existing geotechnical team. This role is a 12 month fixed term contract for maternity leave cover, however, has the potential for ongoing employment after the 12 month period.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will effectively manage and direct all aspects of the department from the development and growth of the team to the delivery of projects on time and within budget. This is an excellent opportunity for a practically minded engineer or geologist who enjoys a mixture of technical project work as well as personal interactions as part of team management.

Experience
  • relevant qualifications and prior experience in managing geotechnical investigations;
  • excellent communication skills and attention to detail;
  • proven experience in business development and commercial acumen advantageous but not essential;
  • ability to lead / manage a diverse team;
  • proven problem-solving skills;
  • knowledge of WHS compliance and risk management requirements and a high commitment to safety;
  • ability to apply occupational health and safety and environmental policies, practices and procedures to field work;
  • high level of computer skills; and
  • ability to travel as required.
