Trainee and Experienced Soil Technicians

Coconut Grove, Darwin NT

Location: Darwin

The Roles

Do you have integrity and possess a can-do attitude? Can you work autonomously and within a team environment? Douglas Partners is looking for enthusiastic and reliable people to join our NATA-accredited Darwin laboratory, on a Full-Time basis.

You will work closely with our Laboratory Manager and will be trained by our National Laboratory trainer to perform testing in accordance with relevant national and state standards. The position consists of hands-on testing, calibration of testing equipment, analytical assessment of data and/or the preparation of test reports.

Experienced Technicians

The successful candidates will possess:

  • Proven experience in construction materials testing
  • Have the ability to supervise & train other employees;
  • A solid understanding of Australian Standards for soil, aggregate and concrete testing;
  • Manual driver’s licence – highly regarded;
  • OH&S Induction card;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team;
  • A current Nuclear Gauge Licence – highly regarded
  • Previous NATA signatory experience would be an advantage.

Trainee Technicians

The successful candidates will possess:

  • a high level of initiative, flexibility and enthusiasm and be a team player.
  • excellent communication skills, motivation and commitment to deliver work to the highest standard will be highly regarded.
  • a valid driver's licence, manual preferable;
  • be able travel to construction sites around Darwin and remote sites.
