About the Role
Our Brisbane office is seeking a motivated Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist who ideally has over 1-2 years’ experience to join the team. This is a great opportunity to work and make a difference, while building technical knowledge in a variety of fields.
Duties and responsibilities are:
- Carry out field investigation works including soil, groundwater, surface water, over-water sampling in connection with site assessments for a wide variety of medium to large scale residential / commercial / industrial / infrastructure projects;
- Log the subsurface geological and contamination conditions whilst undertaking field work;
- Carry out in-situ testing methods such as CPT, DCP/DPT, shear vane, pressure-meter, rock mass permeability, plate load and dilatometer;
- Manage a variety of subcontractors such as drilling rigs, excavators, service locators and traffic control crews to complete the work within allotted timeframes;
- Undertake site inspections, testing, geological face mapping, monitoring services for construction sites for a range of earthworks, pavements, deep basement excavation, road and rail projects;
- Analyse and problem-solving using software such as Slope/W, WALLAP, Repute, Settle3D, Plaxis and FLAC to facilitate the geotechnical, structural and civil designs;
- Organize and assist with a broad range of laboratory testing;
- Adhere to relevant Work Health and Safety requirements; and
- Prepare proposals and write reports for site investigation and inspections.

- Achieved a Bachelor of Engineer (BE) or Bachelor Science (BSc) degree; and
- Hold a current Australian driver’s licence (Class C) and be able to drive manual vehicles.
