About the Role
Currently we are expanding both our capabilities and market share and therefore need a high calibre Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist with at least five years of experience to assist with our growing clientele.
Since its inception, our Wollongong Branch has been involved with geotechnical and environmental investigations, assessments and construction support for small, medium and large residential, commercial and industrial subdivisions, deep basements and tall buildings, pavements and bridges, government infrastructure such as pipelines, schools and pump stations, landslide assessments and remediation, dam design and construction, landfills and underpinning jobs. The Wollongong branch undertakes a diverse range of work that is undertaken within the Illawarra, Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands.
This is an excellent opportunity for a practically minded engineer who enjoys a mixture of outdoor work, analysis and report writing. The ideal client will be keen to liaise with existing clients, understand their requirements and work with them to deliver positive outcomes with a timely manner.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Preparing winning tenders and proposals.
- Planning and coordinating field investigations for a wide variety of medium to large scale residential / commercial / industrial / infrastructure projects.
- Coordination and oversight of site inspection / testing / monitoring services for construction sites for a range of earthworks, pavements, deep excavation, building, road and rail projects.
- Completion or direction of analysis and problem-solving using software such as Slope/W, WALLAP and CIRCLY to facilitate geotechnical and civil designs.
- Writing technical memoranda, letters and reports to a high standard, as expected by our clients.
- Business development, client development and management.
- Mentoring of other geotechnical professionals within the geotechnical team.
About You
To be considered for this role, the successful applicant will:
- At least five years' professional experience as a Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist with experience in site investigations.
- Practically minded and enjoy outdoor work.
- Must hold a current valid full driver licence class C.
- Ability to work in a team-based environment.
- Able to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, contractors and auditors.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Proven problem solving and pattern recognition skills.
- High level of computer skills.
- High commitment to safety.
- Hold a current Australian driver’s licence (Class C) and be able to drive manual vehicles;
