Nizam is a Senior Associate at Douglas Partners and has over 14 years of experience in the field of environmental consulting. He completed his Masters in Environmental Management from Griffith University, Queensland in 2002 and his Bachelors of Science degree with majors in chemistry, environmental science and zoology from India in 2000.
Between 2007 and 2013, Nizam worked in Douglas Partners' Sydney office and then subsequently transferred to the Perth office until 2019. He has now returned to the Sydney office managing the Sydney Environmental team. During his time with Douglas Partners, he has successfully completed a number of complex contamination investigations and remediation projects for a wide range of contaminated sites in NSW and WA including service stations, government assets, airports, ports, commercial sites, industrial sites, quarries, gas works, broad acre / rural properties and race courses. A number of these projects were the subject of audits by NSW EPA and WA DER accredited auditors. He also assists Douglas Partners' WA DER accredited auditor with audits in WA, and is therefore well versed with State and National legislation and International best practice pertinent to contamination and remediation projects. His broad range of experience also includes numerous landfill assessments, soil vapour assessments, environmental risk assessments, impact assessments, acid sulphate soil management projects and hazardous building material assessments for various government and private sector clients.
As part of the projects completed to date, Nizam has assisted a number of clients in undertakings with the NSW EPA, WA DER and other regulatory bodies, including compliance with Director General's requirements, development application conditions and Investigation/Remediation notices.
