Peter Hunt

Senior Associate / Geotechnical Engineer

Peter is a Senior Associate of Douglas Partners with over 10 years’ experience in geotechnical engineering consulting. He commenced employment with DP in January 2007 after completing a Bachelor of Engineering Degree with Honours at the University of New South Wales. He continued his education and completed a Masters of Commerce Degree from UNSW in 2008.

From January 2007 to June 2011, Peter worked within the Geotechnical Division of Douglas Partners before transferring to the Rock Mechanics Division where he resides today. Peter was appointed a Project Manager in November 2012 and a Senior Associate in February 2022.

Peter has been involved in a wide variety of projects; from geotechnical investigations, mining works and laboratory testing, to 3D modelling, anchor/retaining wall design and construction project management. Some of the major projects that he has worked on include; The Hunter Expressway, The South West Rail Link, Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport, Wynyard Walk, IMAX Darling Harbour Redevelopment, Castle Towers Shopping Centre Redevelopment, Taralga Wind Farm, George Fisher Mine, Eagle Downs Mine and a feasibility study for the Ramu 2 Hydroelectric Scheme in Papua New Guinea. His broad range of experience also includes smaller scale inspections, investigations and modelling for residential and commercial developments in and around Sydney, as well as across Australia.
